Human Resources Assistant

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage fullcycle recruiting including: sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding new talent.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop job descriptions
  • Coordinate employee performance evaluations and assist in developing and implementing performance improvement plans
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HRrelated matters, including employee relations, disciplinary actions and conflict resolution.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, including personnel files, benefits records and HR databases
  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures and programs aligned with Norgen Biotek's goals and values
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field. HR certification would be an asset.
  • HR experience in a professional office environment is preferred
  • Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices is an asset.
  • Proficient word processing, writing, and communication skills
  • Dynamic, positive personality with a willingness to assist where needed
  • Good customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Discretion, good judgment, initiative, and the ability to work independently
  • Adaptable and versatile
  • Strong organizational, quantitative and problem solving skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Able to approach problems both logically and creatively
  • Able to meet deadlines
  • Able to perform multiple assignments without immediate supervision
