The Edmonton Police Service requires an efficient, organized, detail oriented and resourceful administrative professional to supervise the Traffic and Digital Disclosure Unit (TDDU) staff of the Investigation Management and Approval Branch (IMAC)

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supervise staff members within the Traffic and Digital Disclosure Unit (TDDU).
  • Managing and reviewing disclosure packages disseminated to Provincial, Federal, and Specialized Crowns.
  • Managing and reviewing disclosure packages for the traffic and digital media unit.
  • Liaising with the Crown Prosecutors Office and the Crown Disclosure Unit to ensure efficient and accurate disclosure.
  • Liaising with the Central Registry Unit on inconsistences and file issues with electronic scanning.
  • Liaising with various units/sections to facilitate the provision of missing relevant investigative records.
  • Organizing and managing the distribution of disclosure work to TDDU staff.
  • Identify issues and trends for assigned tasks within the two units, analyze, and bring forward to Supervisor (along with suggestions for resolution).
  • Log the processing/disclosure output of the TDDU within IMAC and create/present statistic reports to the Inspector and Staff Sergeants.
  • Develop procedural manuals and ensure that information is kept current.
  • Provide orientation and training to new staff, as well as ongoing training for existing staff.
  • Conduct regular meetings to receive and distribute information.
  • Complete CARM updates for all staff members and maintain employee scheduling in a fiscally responsible manner.
  • Contribute to performance reviews.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring.

Qualifications:

  • Any further certificates, diplomas or degrees in an area related to policing, law or computer technology would be considered an asset.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible supervisory and diversified word and/or information processing experience.
  • Proficiency with computer programs An, iReporter, Niche, JOIN, DIS, CPIC, and EPROS.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat X Pro and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, & Outlook).
  • Experience within policing, and knowledge of disclosure laws/processes, the Criminal Code, and court procedures.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, time management, and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrate a high standard of thoroughness, accuracy, and attention to detail while managing a heavy workload, multitasking, and adjusting priorities.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality, to exercise initiative, and to show good judgment.
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions while being organizationally sensitive.

  • As part of your prehire screening, you will be required to complete an Enhanced Security Clearance. Should you accept employment with the Edmonton Police Service you acknowledge and agree to participate in future Enhanced Security Re-Clearances at scheduled intervals or in any other circumstances, exigent or otherwise, as required by Human Resources Division.
