Role Summary

To repair and troubleshoot equipment and machinery efficiently, safely and in accordance with the plant standards, design electrical circuits and PLC programs for machines, work on projects and improvements.

Key Qualifications/Requirements


• Completion of a technical diploma program (2 years+) from an accredited college or university.

• Proven of record of PLC programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Beckoff Automation) or CNC controls (Fanuc, Siemens)

• 3 years experience with electronic control systems in a robotic welding or laser field or on CNC machine tools


• Understanding of CSA-462 and/or NEMA 70

Key Responsibilities


• Establishes and follows-up full project implementation including timing, concept, feasibility, design, specifications, construction and commissioning

• Analyses, records and charts documentation required for maintenance records and projects

• Services, maintains, repairs, installs and tests new or existing equipment, PLC software, and verifies conformance to specifications, while carrying out preventative maintenance procedures

• Troubleshooting of process problems and complete quality improvements as required to maintain part standards of quality

• Deals extensively with vendors (both parts suppliers and equipment suppliers)

• Prepares drawings, materials specifications to requisition as required by vendors or other departments

• Adherence of TS16949, ISO14001, and 5S concepts while committing to continuous improvement and workplace safety

• Maintain safety standards of equipment and work area and perform all duties in a safe manner in accordance with the safety policies Deco Automotive

• Other duties as may be required
