What You Will Get To Do-Reporting to and under the direction of the Supervisor of Corridor Management, the Operations Utility Inspector's primary duties include, but are not limited to:
  • providing on
  • site utility inspections for applicable Municipal Consents, curb cuts, culvert locates and/or maintenance contracts, Road Occupancy Permits, traffic control checks and/or development infills;;
- performs construction site inspections, including coordination,
- management of extra work orders, completion of payment- certificates, and ensuring conformance with Municipal Design
  • Guidelines and contract specifications of various municipal maintenance infrastructure projects. liaises with agencies, developers, utility companies, consultants with other Municipal departments, consultants, residents; special interest groups and regulatory agencies;
- taking on-site measurements for maintenance contractors and/or utility cut repairs;
- monitoring and responding to Ontario1 Call in a timely fashion while also providing applicable utility information when requested;
- responding to general inquiries from the public and/or outside agencies;
- gathering information and maintaining detailed records of work performed on the Town's right of way(s) pertaining to utilities and/or contractors performing work on maintenance contracts;
- preparing and maintaining detailed list(s) of all damages performed by utilities and third parties under Road Occupancy Permits (ROPs);
- investigating, collecting data and calculating applicable costings for various fees such as construction damage deposits within the Town's right of way; and,
- assisting with other miscellaneous projects/assignments as required.
