The Adult Day Program is focused on offering older adults a wide range of social, cognitive, physical and spiritual activities. This program is designed for community dwelling seniors with physical frailty as well as mild cognitive impairments.
The Clinical Digital Health team at Baycrest supports a holistic vision of health and wellbeing that embraces primary care, technology, innovation and social recreation as integral components to comprehensive care.

Working within Ambulatory Services, the research assistant will support both the Freeman Family Day Centre and Digital Health programs with survey administration and data collation, in addition to:

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct literature reviews
  • Communicate with key stakeholders; liaise with primary care providers and other interprofessional team members to determine and support project scope and needs
  • Assist with participant recruitment and informed consent activities
  • Administer surveys, questionnaires, focus group/interview guides, evaluations, etc.
  • Medical chart review and EMR data abstraction
  • Assist with the collection, management and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data
  • Assist with database creation & maintenance
  • Engagement with the lead investigators, research team, and clinical providers throughout the research process
  • Communicates information to clients and families in a way they can understand
  • Complies with hospital policies and codes of conduct, including protection of personal health information. Orientation and training modules will be provided

Qualifications include but are not limited to:

  • Completion of a B.Sc. in Psychology, Neuroscience or Health Sciences related discipline combined with at least one (1) years of relevant research or clinical experience
  • Experience working with individuals with moderatetosevere dementia in the community is an asset
  • Experience in quantitative research including conducting basic data analyses using common statistical software
  • Experience in qualitative research and data coding & analysis is considered an asset
  • Experience using common research databases and reference management software is considered an asset
  • Strong interpersonal abilities, and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent timemanagement, problemsolving and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented, accurate, dependable and flexible individual, able to work independently and capable of multitasking
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload and work deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy
  • Ability to function independently and in a professional manner
