Duties
The Service Desk at Environment and Climate Change Canada is looking for technicians to join our dynamic team to provide technical support to over 9000 internal end-user clients. We provide technical support and assistance at all levels to internal clients, including resolving a broad range of software and hardware issues. Technicians work together as a team to find solutions, develop procedures, share experiences, and learn from each other. This role involves recording, prioritizing, and resolving common informatics problems over the phone or by email.

Intent of the process
This process is intended to create and maintain an inventory of candidates to staff IT Technician, IO positions at Environment and Climate Change Canada. Applications will be pulled from the inventory on a regular basis to fill immediate needs. Depending on the position being staffed, additional qualifications may be required by the hiring managers. You will have the opportunity to submit information relevant to any additional qualifications that may be required.

ED1: Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management, or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

EXPERIENCE:
EX1: Experience working in a team environment in the Information Technology field.
EX2: Experience in installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and providing detailed support to hardware components and software in a Windows network environment.
EX3: Experience providing IT Support Services on site and/or by phone to clients in an official capacity (i.e. as a member of an IT team providing site support, service center, etc).
EX4: Experience providing training and advice to clients.
