Position Summary
Clinical Team Manager, Labour and Delivery and Antenatal Ambulatory Clinics
This important role provides clinical and operational leadership for a busy Labour and Delivery Unit and Antenatal Ambulatory Clinics.

Our inter-professional clinical team supports the birthing experience for approximately 4,500 patients and families each year, in addition to supporting clinical care for over 17,000 ambulatory visits.

Your goal in this position is to ensure operational and clinical excellence, while facilitating the provision of an outstanding patient and family experience.

You will do this by providing outstanding leadership and accountability, and the promotion of high-quality evidence-based care.

You will take on responsibility for the physical, financial, and human resources of the nursing and allied health team to ensure the clinical and regulatory compliance of the team.

We also want you to be a great relationship builder, and foster close contacts with peers across the entire organization.

You will facilitate multi-disciplinary collaboration in a shared governance model to ensure optimal patient and family centered care. You will actively participate in and support Program and Corporate Quality Improvement endeavors. You have strong project leadership skills, with ability to give feedback.

You have effective interpersonal and communication (spoken and written) skills, combined with excellent organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to achieve outcomes.

You also have great interpersonal skills, and you effortlessly connect with physicians, staff, patients, and families.

You will take on the shared responsibility for ensuring that health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and families.

The position supports the hospital's academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation.

Qualifications:

Registered Nurse with a minimum of a Master's degree required.

Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

3-5 years acute care management/supervisory/leadership experience required; Maternal Newborn leadership experience preferred.


Demonstrated leadership in assessing and managing perinatal risks and demonstrated leadership in advancing an inter-professional culture of clinical quality and safety.

Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal and conceptual skills.


Demonstrated ability to lead quality improvement and change effectively (transformational leadership) with exceptional communication skills (written and verbal), team building across the hospital and health care system.

Demonstrated commitment to research and education.

Financially astute and responsible in the management of budgets.

Solid understanding of Human Resource management, policies and procedures.

Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations, related both to employment law and areas of functional responsibilit
