SSR Mining – Seabee Gold Operation (SGO) is hiring for a Mine Scheduler.
About Your New Role:
Reporting to the Supervisor of Mine Engineering, the Mine Scheduler, will have a diverse skill set that allows you to support with various mine-engineering positions including planning and scheduling. You are responsible for creating, designing, and developing best practices regarding mining engineering processes, procedures, and practices to support achievement of targets. You will role model a safety program that promotes a culture of safety and health of all employees working in and or with the Technical Services Department.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Create professional short to medium-term planning strategies and provide execution guidance to mining processes.
- Support & participate in the implementation of Deswik.OPs as the future primary tool for short range scheduling and as-build data capture.
- Create production and development designs that meet industry standards and continually seek opportunities for improved design performance.
- Interaction with entire Technical Services team to ensure team focus.
- Act as a liaison between Technical Services & Mine Operations to coordinate activities.
- Adherence and active improvement of programs, systems, and procedures in mine design.
- Analyzing data and providing technical documentation to support decision-making.
- Support and participate in stoping & development reconciliation processes.
- Engage and interact with business partners across the organization to identify and implement improvement and operational excellence opportunities.
- Using operational excellence resources and methodologies, maintain a high standard of quality in all work.
- Create and manage reports on performance and devise strategies and take any necessary actions to rectify deficiencies.
- Create a strong safety culture through engagement and empowering others.
Your Knowledge and Skills:
- Expert level organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
- Excellent interpersonal/relationship skills – able to work and communicate with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization, written and oral.
- High attention to detail, strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills.
- Proven ability to effectively prioritize duties and solve problems.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment with the utmost professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
- As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must possess a security screening document or equivalent document as defined by The Mines Regulations, 2018. The successful candidate will be required to maintain their security screening document or equivalent document throughout their employment at their own expense and will be required to provide confirmation of same and advise the employer of any changes to, revocation of or suspension of their security screening document during the term of their employment.
Your Education and Experience:
The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Mine Engineering/Geology or a Mining Technologist Diploma.
- Experience with Deswik.CAD, Deswik.OPs and Deswik.Shed is preferred.
- Underground experience in role is preferred but not essential .
About Our Working Conditions:
This position has a schedule of 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off at our remote camp which you will be required to fly in fly out with pick up points in Saskatoon, Prince Albert and La Ronge.
