The Anxiety Disorders Clinic is looking for a psychiatrist to join our service serving patients aged 19 yr. and older residing in the Victoria area with a primary diagnosis of an anxiety disorder. The Anxiety Disorder Service is located in the Victoria Mental Health Centre.


The clinic serves adults who have moderate to severe anxiety disorders such as OCD, social anxiety disorder and panic disorder.

Patients may have concurrent psychiatric issues but the anxiety disorder is the major current focus.

The clinic aims to provide time limited pharmacological and psychological interventions for treatment of the anxiety disorder before returning ongoing care to their primary care provider or alternative mental health service.


The role of the psychiatrist is primarily in a consultation capacity with flexibility to provide follow up for some patients.

There is also the opportunity to run groups for patients with anxiety disorders such as Social Anxiety, OCD or trans-diagnostic groups for persons with GAD/Panic disorder.


The hours of the position are flexible with a requirement to attend biweekly virtual team meetings on Tuesday mornings from Appointments can be in person or virtual depending on clinical need.


The position is for a minimum 0.2 FTE commitment that can be increased depending upon need and practice up to 0.4 FTE.

Remuneration is via MSP billings plus some sessional support.

Participation in the South Island General Psychiatry call rotation is a requirement of this position.

Involvement in the Island Medical Program undergraduate and postgraduate teaching program is encouraged. A University of BC affiliated appointment and membership in the Division of General Psychiatry is available.
