We are looking for a

Product Design Lead to join our Product Design team. Reporting to the Product Design Manager, you will incorporate product design principles in the ownership and delivery of complex and high quality design solutions that exceed our user needs. Your storytelling and persuasion techniques build trust, and you communicate confidently with stakeholders throughout the organization.

BenchSci is a remote first organization. At this moment, we are welcoming applicants from Canada, the US and the UK for this position.

You Will:

  • Deliver complex UX solutions, engaging in design planning and scalable design strategies.
  • Act as a design authority, while driving initiatives, and continuous improvement in operations.
  • Lead and mentor designers, encourage growth, and support your team.
  • Initiate and lead systemslevel projects, empower a usercentric business, and execute challenging projects.
  • Drive UX goals, programs, and facilitation across teams, deliver compelling design documents, acting as a guardian of user experience quality.
  • Help designers connect projects to business goals and break down abstract initiatives into measurable outcomes.
  • Create, improve on, and achieve endtoend experiences from idea to launch: user flows, wireframes, prototypes, specifications, and visual designs for use in all stages of product development.
  • Collaborate with a crossfunctional team of scientists, engineers, and designers to develop solutions that meet business, technical, and user needs.
  • Work with our users to discover their needs and validate design solutions
  • Present, articulate, and explain design recommendations and decisions within teams and to stakeholders.
  • Follow trends and bestpractices in digital product design, and ensure that BenchSci tracks them in our platform designs.
  • Help develop guidelines and design systems, and advocate for the use of design standards across experiences.

You Have:

  • 7+ years of experience delivering highquality user experiences
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field (i.e. design, humancomputer interaction, UX design, software engineering, etc.)
  • A portfolio showcasing superior design skills, demonstrating highquality commercial product design
  • Demonstrated experience building complex data visualization dashboards
  • Expertise in low and highfidelity UX and UI design, prototyping, and design documentation
  • Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, InVision, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • A proven record of providing thought leadership, bringing industry trends and positively leading change to mature the design practice.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, communication, and change management skills
