As an Information Security Specialist your responsibilities will include:

  • Educate and communicate security requirements, policies, standards and procedures to:
  • Business/internal stakeholders as it relates to projects and strategic initiatives
  • Lead on Staff Security Awareness program and coordinate with Learning & Development
  • Lead on quarterly privileged access reviews and remediation workplan
  • Perform internal security audits and recommend peer teams on remediation steps
  • Coordinate the annual IT Audit exercise with internal and external auditors
  • Conduct security reviews of planned initiatives across the organization and produces high quality Threat Risk Assessment reports clearly articulating risks
  • Provide recommendations to development and operational team to address security weaknesses and identify potential new security solutions
  • Assist with other cyber security related tasks

Think you've got what it takes to be an Information Security Specialist? Like the colour purple? Great.

Here's a few more boxes we're also hoping you can tick:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, business and/or other related major
  • 5+ years of information security consulting and advisory experience
  • Experience with ERM/GRC tools, threat assessments and security testing methodologies
  • Working knowledge of security standards including ISO 27001 and NIST
  • Must have CISSP with CISA, CRISC, GIAC or similar certification considered an asset
  • Excellent initiative, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrable understanding of how to network and develop working relationships with various key stakeholders
  • Strong business and technical acumen
  • Direct experience with developing security metrics, KRIs and KPIs for leadership
  • Synthesize information into succinct, concise, and logical summaries and reports
  • Ability to work with teams to achieve goals and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment
  • Work well under pressure with time constraints and can prioritize competing priorities appropriately
  • Must have handson knowledge of Microsoft M365 services including Exchange Online. Familiarity with Mimecast is preferred
  • Must have handson knowledge of Microsoft Azure configurations for various products such as Defender, Information Protection etc.
  • Familiarity with the IT auditing tool
