This role is currently operating on a Monday to Friday 7:00am to 3:00pm schedule but applicants should be comfortable with working an afternoon shift of Monday to Friday 3:00pm to 11:00pm if production needs change_


The Mixer's primary responsibility is to scale ingredients and mix raw materials to create finished batches according to the recipes.

They will ensure that equipment is operated within the process specifications and that our daily production of batches is achieved at the highest quality level.


Responsibilities:

  • Follow all regulations and Company policies to ensure safe operation of mixing equipment, including strict adherence to food safety, GMP, and health and safety systems
  • To prepare for next day/next week review upcoming production schedule, scale and bag separately all raw ingredients to specification
  • Ensure scaled bags are labelled accurately
  • Stage and prepare ingredients according to recipe/formula
  • Calculate the number of mixes needed based on daily production schedule
  • Inspect all equipment prior to start up and during disassembly
  • Load and unload ingredients in mixing bowl
  • Operate and maintain mixing equipment according to safe operating procedure
  • Regularly monitor each mix for colour, consistency, etc. and adjust as needed to meet quality specification
  • Responsible for recording daily mix totals in logbook
  • Report to Line Supervisor or Production Manager any issues, hazards, unsafe conditions, absence or defects in equipment, and any contravention of health and safety policies
  • Clean the mixer and parts between batches; ensure proper sanitation when changing from one product to another to eliminate cross contamination
  • Maintain a clean and hazard free work environment at all times
  • All other duties as assigned by the Company.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Completion of high school or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, WHIMS, and Food Safety is preferred.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- "Can do" attitude with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to resolve issues.

Physical Demands:

  • Capable to lift, move, and carry items up to 25 kg.
  • Able to stand, reach, bend, push and pull frequently over the course of a shift.
  • Bakery environment which involves exposure to warmer than optimal room temperatures.
  • Able to wear all safety or protective equipment as required by the Company.
