About Our Opportunity

As the Program Administration Officer 3 you will be responsible for providing advice and assistance on financial matters relating to the various program areas within the Financial Services Unit and external agencies funding by the client departments.

Primary Accountabilities

Some of the primary accountabilities of the role will include:

  • Assisting with the financial administration, management, and/or coordination of existing programs delivered by the client department.
  • Assisting in the implementation of systems and procedures to organize and coordinate the collection of financial and statistical information.
  • Providing interpretations of the guidelines and advice to external auditors, healthcare administrators,and departmental staff.
  • Examining, analyzing, and reporting on the short-term fiscal impacts of program and budget initiatives on programs and externally funded agencies.
  • Participating in the business planning process of both the client department and external agencies.
  • In this role, you will work directly with the Program Administration Officer 4 and report to the Director of Finance.
Qualifications and Experience

This may be the right opportunity for you if you have a bachelor's degree with 5 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

You have knowledge of Public Sector Accounting Standards and other relevant accounting standards.

You have previous experience providing counsel to clients on financial, accounting, and reporting issues in the context of generally accepted accounting principles, legislation, and policy.

You have a demonstrated ability to critically examine financial statements and perform operational/program reviews.

You possess strong analytical,communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and relationship building skills.

We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

Working Conditions

Your normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day. You may be required to work overtime on occasion.

The majority of your work is conducted in a comfortable office environment.

Pay Grade: PR 13

Salary Range: $2, $3,107.16 Bi-Weekly
