PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Lead a safe, efficient, cost-effective work equipment maintenance program within their territory.

Manage, organize, and control the resources responsible for the maintenance of work equipment and vehicles in accordance with regulatory requirements and processes.

Manage the planning and execution of all work equipment repair activities.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Direct and monitor the performance of Work Equipment staff to ensure the reliability of work equipment and vehicles
Ensure the application of CPKC safety practices, policies and procedures by all direct reports
Deliver specified financial results expected within their assigned expense and capital budgets
Ensure PPM is scheduled on equipment evaluating inspection reports
Implement work processes/changes that achieve continuous improvement
Schedule and coordinate equipment for level three repairs
Ensure equipment work order management and maintenance records are kept accurate
Maintain cross functional relationships and ensures clear cross functional working relationships with OEM and regulatory agencies
Ensure supply of parts inventories are set to correct target levels
Participate in Track Renewal Health & Safety Plan
Mentor and Coach direct reports to improve their effectiveness

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED Equivalent
Minimum 5 years' experience in a railway work equipment maintenance environment
Journeymen certificate as a heavy duty mechanic is preferred
Demonstrated capability to apply relevant knowledge and technical skills to monitor adherence to CPKC policies and standards as well regulatory requirements
Computer proficient in CPKC systems ie. SAP
Capability to develop and manage a project plan/schedule
Strong knowledge of the budgeting process
Ability to simultaneously manage priorities and ensure delivery of key performance metrics during emergency and non-emergency operations
People leadership
Ability to influence peers, cross functional co-managers and leadership team
Mobility or ability to travel required
Ability to work with people, with integrity
