The Banking & Cash Management Branch (BCM) manages the province's multi-billion operational cash flow. Negotiates agreements for banking services. Records, deposits and distributes government payments and develops electronic banking and payment services for our public sector clients.

Under the authority of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) and government core policy and procedures, BCM is responsible for the banking infrastructure and services that enable government to complete financial transactions with citizens, customers, vendors and employees and ensures the effective management of government funds related to these transactions

As part of a highly effective team, the Cash Management Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, forecasting and reporting on the Province's annual total cash flow (approximately $1.8 billion), daily cash flow position and for initiating short
- and medium-term cash investments to minimize borrowing costs and maximize interest income.

Job Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary degree in business administration, public administration, finance, economics or related field; OR
  • Students in good standing with the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Association with at minimum completion of the Core Modules; OR
  • Completion of the Province of British Columbia Financial Management Certificate program.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with respect to financial management, financial analysis and/or policy and planning advice in the following areas: finance and budgeting, performance measurement/evaluation, forecasting and trend analysis

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
  • Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation.
  • Extensive experience in forecasting and trend analysis.
  • Completed or enrolled in the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP).
