As Team Lead Operations, you will lead a team of 15-20 operators in achieving unit production priorities, collaborating with the a cross functional team to troubleshoot operational issues or constraints, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.


In this role, you will lead with focus on worker health & safety, as well as environmentally responsible and reliable operations of the Sarnia refinery.


Minimum Requirements:

  • 10 years' of experience in process / refinery operations
  • Strong analytical and decisionmaking capabilities
  • Strong communication skills which allow you to collaborate effectively with dynamic and diverse groups
  • The ability to coach and mentor personnel in operating processes and emergency preparedness
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • A valid driver's licence and a clean driving record

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and provide development for a team of operators in one area of the refinery and ensure proper execution of work
  • Foster collaboration and create an inclusive and respectful work environment
  • Advance our operational discipline behaviours and opportunities for improvement
  • Execute daily and monthly production plans by communicating direction as well as maintenance priorities to our operators
  • Perform operator qualification assessments in conjunction with the training coordinator as well as monitor training and qualification statuses of operators
  • Performance management and development of unionized workforce
  • Lead incident command, emergency response, and effective incident investigations

Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of our Sarnia refinery in Ontario, located at 1900 St. Clair Parkway
  • The shift schedule is a three days on, three days off, three nights on, three nights off; 12hour shift
  • This position is safety sensitive
