The
R&D Co-op role supports the Technology Development team across a broad range of research activities that improve the current Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology and lead to the development of new DAC technologies.
Major responsibilities of the R&D Co-op role range from conducting experimental studies in the lab, to designing equipment prototypes, to operating and analyzing integrated bench-scale plants.

The work schedule follows a M-F, 40hrs/week schedule.
Responsibilities
- Support the Technology Development team with equipment evaluation, design, construction, commissioning, and operation
- Support the Technology Development team with experimental design and execution, data analysis, and communication of results
Technical:
- Perform necessary design calculations when supporting the evaluation of new equipment or instrumentation
- Perform experiments at laboratory, benchscale, and pilot scale
- Assist with experiment design, data analysis, and reporting of results
Qualifications
Education:
- Enrollment in an undergraduate Co-Op program in Chemistry, Physics, or Chemical Process or Mechanical Engineering
Key Competencies:
- Understanding of mass transfer, thermodynamics, kinetics, fluid mechanics, mechanical design and other chemistry, mechanical engineering, and chemical engineering principles
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information
- Experience performing laboratory experiments and doing handson development of equipment is an asset
- Experience operating bench
- Experience evaluating novel equipment and processes is an asset
