Summary:

The HSE Manager is an integral part of the HSE Department who will lead and support the HSE projects. The individual provides valued input in the development, implementation and improvement in the HSE Programs and support business needs.

As HSE Manager, You Will:

  • Lead HSE special projects based on business needs. This includes but is not limited to, project specific safety action plans, defensive driving programs, etc
  • Manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of provincial Certificate of Recognition (COR) and other programs, as applicable
  • Track data, analyze trends, recommend, and lead initiatives to improve effectiveness of the HSE team. Includes implementation and maintenance of systems such as the Cority Safety Management Program
  • Support operations by ensuring contractual HSE obligations are met
  • Support audits/inspections on sites by regulatory bodies, as required
  • Lead administration related to a variety of HSE programs including but not limited to crisis management plans, annual issuance of Miller's HSE Manual, CVOR monitoring, driver license checks, COR guidelines
  • Communicate goals, objectives, and corrective actions with all affected stakeholders
  • Provide guidance and technical direction to numerous HSE coordinators and other HSE COEs to optimally support business needs
  • Other duties as required

What You Will Bring:

  • Knowledge of COR requirements, driver training programs, transportation sector
  • Experience with Ontario's Certificate of Recognition (COR) and possessing auditor qualifications.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Proficiency in computer software; solid Microsoft Office skills are required.
  • Have the ability to influence others to follow safety practices, procedures, and regulations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and solid communication skills are necessities to being successful in this role.
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Solid organizational and planning skills
