Job Summary:
As a Java Developer, you'll be at the heart of creating innovative technical solutions and tackling moderately complex programming challenges. Your expertise in software development methods, standards, and best practices will be essential in driving our projects forward.
What you'll be doing:
Write code and perform testing on a diverse range of complex software programs, ensuring high quality.Apply a structured approach to isolate and resolve complex application-level or straightforward system-level problems.Follow established development guidelines and standards.Conduct detailed analysis of defined systems specifications and develop and document designs that meet applicable standards. Assist in analyzing more complex systems and documenting designs.Participate in product design meetings, review, and help write functional and non-functional requirements.Provide detailed estimates for small tasks, assist in establishing project schedules, and plan tasks up to a month in duration.Take complete ownership of tasks, overcome obstacles, and ensure timely completion of larger projects.Provide input for the Technical Writing department to produce product documentation.Troubleshoot, monitor and prepare simulation and evaluation plans to ensure designs meet specifications.Participate in code and design reviews.Maintain current knowledge of Central 1's products, application functionality, and high-level architecture. Learn new technologies quickly and mentor junior staff members.Perform other duties as required to deliver exceptional service and support Central's business goals.What you'll have:
A post-secondary degree in computer science or software engineering (or equivalent).3+ years of relevant experience in software engineering, including the analysis and development of moderately complex applications using an object-oriented methodology.Technical Skills: Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, Web Services, Angular2+ and/or TypeScript, JUnit, SQL, Mockito, SVN, Git, and design patterns.Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.Strong written and verbal communication abilities.Capability to plan tasks, work to schedules, and adapt to changing priorities.Ability to work with minimal supervision on multiple projects in a team environment and deliver on commitments. Innovation and eagerness to learn from mistakes.Nice to have:
Experience with Docker.Experience with Redux or NgRx.Hands-on experience with Jasmine and Karma.Salary: $79,700
The salary represents the job rate determined for the successful candidate who is fully competent in the role. The actual salary will vary depending on market conditions and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
