Sukanya Sutharsanan, and I'm currently the Senior Manager, Payroll at Mejuri, looking for a
Payroll Specialist to join our team.
As the payroll specialist you will process payroll accurately, on time and in compliance with legislative requirements and to monitor legislative changes that affect our payroll.
To manage the Company's multi-location payroll (including Canada, US, and the UK) and keep a record of all employee compensations and deductions in accordance with localized regulations/laws.
What You'll Do:
- Own the end to end payroll operations including payroll onboarding, status changes, leave management (pregnancy, parental, and disability), and offboarding
- Process semimonthly payroll for all Canadian, US employees and monthly payroll for UK, employees
- Respond to any CRA/IRS or UK equivalent inquiries/audits
- Address employee questions concerning pay and payroll deductions
- Processes and distributes all required employee notices including year end T4s and W
- Assists accounting with monthend close reconciliations and fluctuation analysis related to salary accounts
- Perform payroll accounting journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis as directed by the Accounting team
- Own registration process for new /provincial state tax compliance
- Develop strong relationships with our payroll providers to quickly troubleshoot issues, including amending ROE's, special pay runs, and other time sensitive transactions
What You'll Bring To The Team:
Payroll Experience:Minimum 5 years full cycle Canadian payroll experience, US payroll experience considered an asset
Payroll Designation:PCP Certification is considered an asset
