Your Opportunity:


The Addiction Recovery Centre is a 42 Bed inpatient unit that provides a safe and supportive environment for individuals experiencing withdrawal form alcohol and other drugs.

The Client Care Assistant provides direct care, assists the Nursing team with completing assessments including vital signs, documentation in client files, and facilitation of recovery based activities.

You will operate within a busy multidisciplinary team environment and must demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills with a diverse range of clients, professionals, and the public.


Description:


As a Client Care Assistant, you will work as a team member with all staff assisting in the provision of supportive care to clients with addictions.

Your primary duties include providing supportive care to clients, ensuring a safe and secure facility, responding to client requests, communicating effectively with other staff and contributing to a therapeutic environment through interaction with clients.

As part of an interprofessional team, you will contribute to the delivery of residential services to persons with an addiction promoting client respect, autonomy, health and improved quality of life.

You will support clients to participate in activities of daily living, recreational and social activities, and educational and employment activities.

You will also work collaboratively with other health and service providers to maintain a safe and supportive environment.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Basic Cardiac Life Support

  • Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) required. AED certification is required. Applied Suicide Intervention skills training certificate is required. Non
- violent Crisis Intervention training certificate is required. Effective communication and interpersonal skills required. Self-directed with the ability to maintain collaborative and effective work relationships. Ability to work effectively as a team member. Excellent verbal and written skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum six months experience in Addiction or Mental Health setting preferred or six months experience in Hospital setting.
