Job Description:

Skill Set:
Sr. Business Analyst

  • 5 to 8 years of progressive experience as a Business Analyst working on small to large projects specifically within a Transfer Agency and/or within the Canadian Financial Services Industry.
  • Solid interpersonal and organizational skills combined with the ability to readily adapt to rapidly changing insurance, Mutual Funds and Regulatory environments
  • Exceptional analytical, research and problemsolving skills
  • Experience using Data, Solutions & Process Modelling methods
  • Use Case, UML, Decision Tables
  • Experience in practicing different SDLC methodologies
  • Agile
  • SCRUM and Waterfall preferred
  • Must be flexible, adaptable and able to prioritize to deliver results
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written

Required Skills:

Role & Responsibilities:
o Support estimating efforts for new work and changes to existing projects


o Develop products & services requirements strategically and tactically to support business goals - operational efficiency, market share, quality, etc.

o Identify and implement process improvement initiatives

  • Conduct requirements elicitation using appropriate elicitation techniques
o Analyze, categorize and document elicited requirements in business and functional requirements specifications documents

o Conduct requirements walkthroughs with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure documented requirements are accurate

o Provide input into the creation of test plans and test strategies for enhancements

  • Understand product standards and roadmaps used for different lines of business i.e. Securities, Insurance, Mutual Funds i.e. LSIF, Legislative products i.e. RESP, RRSP
o Ensure client requirements can be translated into technical solutions that meet the client needs while maintaining architectural integrity across product lines

o Perform gap analysis for the development of new business processes and workflows that support client requirements

o Agile Product Owner - Ability to execute Agile projects in capacity of a Product Owner i

e:
maintaining a backlog and roadmap, translating business requirements to the development team, enforcing high standards re. definition of ready, definition of done

  • Be proactive and "Think on your Feet"
o Conduct market research, and provide input into development of benchmarks and performance measures;

o Lead and resolve client functionality challenges when issues may arise during the project lifecycle

o Keep abreast of industry best practices (e.g. SAFe, BABOK, CMMI)
