Mission, BC.

We are looking for an
Assembly Line Lead to help us build world-class manure spreaders, forage trailers, bedding flingers, and other related agriculture and custom products.

The successful applicant will be a working supervisor who leads our E-Series production line.

Most of the work is installing hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems, along with the general final assembly of gearboxes, components, and other bolt-on items.

This is
NOT a boring assembly-line-style position.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Safety
  • Demonstrate, promote, ensures compliance of safe work processes and procedures for all employees.

General:

  • Open and/or close shop and yard according to established procedure.
  • Manage assembly line consumables.
  • Follow established SOP's for manufacturing JBS Equipment.
  • Create new SOP's in conjunction with Production Management.
  • Employees
  • Ensure employees have adequate training, instructions, tooling and supplies they need to succeed.
  • Communicate expectations and manage employee performance.
  • Understand the skills, abilities and experience of department employees and utilize them appropriately.
  • Evaluate performance of each shift/employee according to the production schedule.
  • Ensure employee reviews are completed and reported in a consistent and timely manner.4. Production
  • Prepare equipment, tools and supplies at the beginning of each job according to order specifications.
  • Ensure that alltime benchmarks for the assembly production line are not exceeded.
  • Proactively communicate with appropriate departments about issues such as: missing/incorrect parts, scheduling changes/priorities, and rework/errors.
  • Address all problems through corrective actions.
  • Document and communicate all revisions with the Engineering department using established procedures.
  • Schedule
  • Maintain assembly schedule and notify production management of any issues before they impact ontime delivery of units.
  • Create shift plan and document work completed on each shift.
  • Accurately track time on each job.
  • Adjust department labor requirements to meet production targets.
  • Write/Review production reports and production output of all shifts.
  • Communicate status of inprocess jobs to Production Management.
  • Quality Control
  • Ensure SOPs for assembling equipment are followed.
  • Ensure quality control procedures are completed and documented.
  • Recognize when units do match quality specified in work instructions and provide solutions prior to unit leaving the assembly line.

SeCONDARY DUTIES:

  • Secondary duties provided at discretion of management.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Attendance, punctuality, and consistency are vital.
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience assembling a range of mechanical products or their equivalent.
  • Must have required tools and equipment outlined in the JBS Equipment Tool List.
  • Ability and willingness to follow directions, along with the ability to work independently.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks, and work under pressure with mínimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure, pressure gauge, level and square.
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Both indoor and outdoor work.
  • Exposure to substances like grease, oil, hydraulic fluid, paint, etc.
  • Exposure to loud noise requires hearing protection.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; climb ladders.
  • Ability to kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, and reach above and below waist.
  • Ability to use hands to operate equipment, handle, reach or feel.
  • Ability to regularly move up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasionally lift and/or manipulate over 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Ability to wear fully fitted respirator when required.

Job Types:

Pay:
$30.00-$38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
