QMC Service Manager
The service manager position is responsible for the daily customer requests for service for our existing clients. The position will manage the service department and all staff reporting into the department to achieve the expected KPI's. The manager will identify opportunities to grow and expand the department and its products and services.


The Service Manager is an integral member of our team and reports to the Operations Manager in our Toronto office.


The responsibilities will include:

  • Directly work with the Divisional Leads and Account Managers to establish maintenance service agreements
  • Liaise with other departments for large RMA product deployments
  • Implement a measurable business development plan, policies and strategies that will foster growth and meet the organizations revenue objectives and customer expectations.
  • Delivering the daytoday services in most profitable and efficient manner to maximize the profit/bottom line
  • Approves time sheets for direct reports, and performs all other necessary management tasks
  • Responsible for procuring and maintaining the vehicle fleet and field tools inventory including maintenance and repairs
  • Ensures consistency and quality of delivery systems through supervision and audits of Technician work.
  • Create and/or review all quotations related to service work
  • Deliver service response to warrantyrelated customer issues.
  • Meet regularly with staff to review operations and objectives.
  • Provide cut sheets, installation diagrams and contractor record of installation to customers as required
  • Ensure verifications are completed for projects and confirm that all equipment is onsite and prep work complete
  • Communicate with contractors and various internal/external clients with respect to the project such as that deficiencies or contractor/client issues are resolved
  • Provide outstanding customer service to internal and external customers including corresponding with contractors/clients as required
  • Develops and nurtures strong communication channels with peers in the region and the corporate partners.
  • Leads and develops staff including responsibility for onboarding new employees, setting objectives, evaluating performance & expectations, coaching and mentoring
  • Responsible to deliver Health and Safety meetings and ensure safety is maintained within the organization.
  • Develops and maintains a positive work environment for employees.
  • Provides technical expertise to staff as needed.
  • Acts as a positive change agent in supporting QMC's new initiatives (operational and cultural).
  • Supports and complies with all QMC's policies, Quality System and Health & Safety program.
  • Maintains training records and relevant qualifications.
  • All other responsibilities as assigned.

Skills and Experience

  • College diploma & Trade experience, University degree will be an asset.
  • At least 3 years of successful experience with service and sales in the Metering, Electrical or HVAC field.
  • Excellent up to date knowledge of process and automation.
  • Skills: customer service, mentoring, coaching, open communication, analytical, presentation, and overall, highlydeveloped leadership skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, must be fluent in English
  • Ability to identify, plan, organize, prioritize and execute projects in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a dynamic project environment with changing priorities.
  • Highly skilled in a Windows Office environment, knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint and Project a must.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM software an asset.
