WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR?

To be successful, you'll need to possess:

  • Post-secondary degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience in an HR Recruitment role, preferably in a retail organization
  • CHRP or CHRL/CHRE designation or working towards designation an asset
  • Current knowledge of HR practices and Employment Law
  • Expert knowledge of HRIS and recruitment systems, preferably Ceridian Dayforce
  • Ability to set priorities and undertake multiple tasks with tight deadlines
  • Effective in influencing key stakeholders
  • Excellent communicator (written and verbal, formal and informal) as well as strong facilitation skills with a senior audience and ability to simply and concisely communicate complex information
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Must be able to represent Roots in a positive manner both internally and externally

  • Lead business strategies with innovative talent acquisition, performance management and talent assessment to support employee's career develop and organizational growth.
  • Establish and provide recruiting metrics as well as other hiring and employment data, metrics and analytics.
  • Update and distribute monthly talent communications.
  • Develop, update and implement talent policies and procedures.
  • Understand current needs and forecast for future recruitment with strategic analysis.
  • Manage the complete recruitment cycle including: Preparation of job postings & descriptions in accordance with Roots standards; resume review and analysis; conducting interviews; hiring recommendations; preparation of offer letters; onboarding and introductory training of new employees.
  • Lead the development and rollout of a formal coop and campus recruitment program by partnering with select schools to engage and attract new talent
  • Responsible for leading the exit survey process for departing employees and reporting on the survey findings on a quarterly basis
