The Investment Solutions Division aims to be recognized by members, clients and advisors as a preferred partner for investment solutions, especially responsible investments.

The division helps make Desjardins the main wealth management choice for its members and clients by offering them relevant, effective investment solutions.


The Investment Solutions Development and Management Administrative Department develops all investment solutions and actively manages commercial performance, with a strong focus on responsible investment.

It is responsible for the investment solutions offer for all Desjardins distribution networks, including the caisse network, specialized networks, Desjardins partners and external networks.

Its investment solutions offer includes all types of investment funds as well as a wide range of structured and guaranteed products.


As an investment fund product specialist, you are responsible for managing mutual fund, exchange-traded fund (ETF) and private fund products and managing their commercial performance.

You lead and influence internal and external partners to optimize relative performance, distribution and product understanding.

The product specialist is a key source of knowledge and expertise for all mutual fund and ETF investment strategies and plays a critical role in the business development of Desjardins Investment Solutions.


Your main responsibilities are analyzing the performance of investment strategies and solutions, making presentations on investment products and strategies, and activities related to business development.

You also help develop and recommend strategic directions and business positions.

More specifically, this role requires knowledge of the markets for retail investors for each asset class (equity, fixed income, liquid and private alternatives) and a thorough understanding of retail investors' investment needs.

General Information on the Position


Main responsibilities- Play a leadership role in managing the commercial performance of mutual funds and ETFs (namely the fund's performance relative to its peers).- Ensure our products are properly positioned both internally (marketing, sales) and externally (advisors, members and clients) and that the commercial strategy for our products is effectively implemented.

- Develop short
- and long-term strategic business plans for all the funds under your responsibility.
  • Develop and maintain indepth knowledge of the portfolio manager's investment philosophy, processes and returns.
  • Maintain close relationships with the portfolio management team.
  • Identify the factors that contribute to performance, positioning and outlooks.
  • Become a reference person regarding competitive offers in your field of expertise by implementing careful monitoring and developing effective tools, and using this expertise to support business development. Keep a list of the main competitors for each fund and ETF under your responsibility.
  • Closely monitor the portfolio manager's performance against industry peers (commercial performance) on an ongoing basis and make recommendations to improve performance. Work closely with the manager selection team for new managers or manager changes.
  • Work closely with sales teams to understand the needs of the various distribution networks and financial advisors, including national accounts.
  • Train sales teams and provide ongoing support.
  • Present products to sales teams and collaborate on presentations to advisors in various distribution networks.
  • Help develop business and marketing plans for product launches.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external partners, including teams working in product development, manager selection, sales and marketing.
  • Deliver presentations at industry conferences and events.
  • Maintain an external network of contacts and represent your unit before committees or working groups in the investment fund industry in Canada.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or administration
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience
  • Experience assimilating complex and diverse market data
  • Experience managing multiple projects at the same time
