What You Will Do

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate the implementation of invasive species control methods across Ontario
  • Liaising with researchers, government departments, ENGO's, and other stakeholders for the control of invasive species on DUC properties and private and public lands.
  • Lead communication for community outreach and respond to public inquiries
  • Developing and managing project deliverables, work plans, budgets, grant writing and reporting
  • Conducting and coordinating field activities such as, invasive plant surveys, plant removal, AI detection tools and eDNA collection
  • Managing data and record keeping
  • Providing guidance to partners, landowners and stakeholders on management strategies
  • Delivering training workshops and presentations
  • Supervising and training summer students and volunteer

Requirements:

  • 35 years experience in conservation related field
  • University degree in environmental science; a MSc would be an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to create effective work plans and execute project activities ontime and onbudget
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with other organizations/departments/etc. to develop and achieve project goal
  • Selfmotivated, with attention to detail and strong organizational & timemanagement skills and the ability to work effectively with mínimal supervision
  • Experience executing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency using GIS software and database management skills (ArcPro, MS Office)
  • Strong critical thinking and problemsolving skills
  • Experience managing staff and/or volunteers

Salary:
Staring salary at $52,700, based on a 35-hour work week. Salary for this position will commensurate with each individual's education and/or experience as it relates to the position.
