Why Work for Us

Stuart Olson is currently seeking Rig Welders for our client site in Cold Lake, AB for a August 2024 start date for a turnaround anticipated to end mid September 2024. Working a schedule of 6 on, 1 off, 12 hours/day

Responsibilities

Adhere to a given WPS. Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications. Perform GTAW, GMAW, and SMAW welds. Understand the importance of Consumable Storage and Maintenance. Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects. Maintain safe work practices. Follow a Step by Step Repair Plan. Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance and repair techniques. Secure components together applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining weld shrinkage, and welding techniques. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.

Qualifications

Journeyman Welder or Red Seal Ticket Journeyman Valid Driver's License Valid B Pressure Ticket Valid GTAW (tig) ticket Boiler Tube Welding Experience CSTS-09 or Better WHIMIS 2015, if CSTS 09 H2S Alive Emergency First Aid Fall Protection Confined Space Entry Monitor Pre-access Drug and Alcohol test

Working Conditions

Working both indoors and outdoors in hot weather conditions Working in and around noise and dust Must be clean shaven Coveralls, safety glasses/goggles, hard hat and gloves are provided CSA approved steel-toed safety boots will be required

Physical Requirements

Stand or walk for long periods of time Climbing stairs/ladders regularly Ability to lift loads up to 25kg Climbing stairs/ladders regularly Exposure to hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, falls, falling objects, and sharp hand tools
