About the work environment:

Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home.

Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start & end times.


About you:


As the product owner, you are the voice of the customer and perform a significant number of activities, including acting as a conduit/facilitator for communication between the team and the outside world.

You're defining and elaborating stories, prioritizing the backlog and accepting work when the team completes a story.

About you / qualifications:

  • 23 year's experience as a Product Owner / Product Manager in Deposits at a financial institution.
  • Product Owner / Product Manager Certification (e.g., Certified Scrum Master or Certified Scrum Product Owner), an asset
  • Experience with Agile methodology and tools, including Confluence, JIRA, and experience in Deposit Products (HISA, GICs, BOAs) is highly desirable.
  • Experience in delivering deposit solutions (eg

API products:
affinity towards tech products and understanding API-based products) will be an added advantage.

  • Experience working with software engineering teams and software.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, influencing, and leadership skills.
  • Sharp analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Experience solving problems and issues leveraging technology.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to effectively manage conflicting needs of stakeholders.
  • Possess a fundamental understanding of endtoend customer experience integration and dependencies.
  • Experience with automation and optimization of operational workflows
  • Exposure to budgeting and product pricing
  • Post-Graduate education is considered an asset.
  • You are technically minded.

About the day-to-day:

Working closely with the Scrum Master, lead an agile development team

  • Serve as product ambassador internally and externally, sharing knowledge and answering questions; inform and influence stakeholders of progress and status, effectively sharing the product vision and complexity.
  • Be responsible for the delivery of new product features and updates to existing features, including mitigating roadblocks to achieving sprint/release goals.
  • Continuously make improvements and fixes to the product to enhance the customer experience.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders during the visioning and concept development of a product and enhancements.
  • Perform discovery on topics to gather information for requirements and begin further analysis efforts.
  • Build and manage/prioritize the backlog of user stories to achieve the business roadmap.
  • Assess value and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure work focuses on maximum value and alignment with product strategy.
  • Prioritize activities according to user needs and ROI while taking into consideration IT constraints and relationships with external partners.
  • Ensure the development team understands items in the backlog and gets clarity on items.
  • Remain aware of relevant market and competitive factors.
  • Participate in setting product pricing and budgeting.
