Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Support all (batching, filling, packaging) operations in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
  • Train and coach operations employees for improved performance.
  • Assist operations supervisor to decide workstation assignments/rotations, employee training, overtime assignments, and backup for absent employees.
  • Assist to coordinate production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers.
  • Assist in production as necessary to cover breaks, absences or bottlenecks.
  • Verify and post packaging pallet patterns.
  • Accurately move, split, and report as finished pallets in the DAX system including case count and pattern.
  • Accurately count and return to stock all unused materials in the DAX system.
  • Control inventory while maintaining current cycle counts throughout the process run.
  • Ensure all pallet tags are accurate prior to releasing to material handlers and/or shippers & receivers.
  • Work with shippers & receivers to request line supplies, such as displays, mastercases, tape, hot melt.
  • Review and sign off on all packaging run reports.
  • Communicate with operations and quality personnel regarding issues that need attention including material shortages.
  • Promote safety in the work area by assisting others and keeping aisles clear and the work area free of debris.
  • Set up and operate highspeed packing and packaging machinery.
  • Changeover machines for new product runs.
  • Troubleshoot machinery when malfunctions or production stoppages occur, communicating with supervision and maintenance as necessary.
  • Repair, clean and perform preventative maintenance, working with maintenance technicians as necessary.
  • Stock line with new packaging supplies as needed.
  • Perform periodic quality checks to ensure packing and packaging is performed to customer specification.
  • Complete documentation in a legible and timely manner.
  • Calculate, record and dispose of defective product and packaging daily.
  • Assist leads and supervisors with daytoday operations of the line including WIP and breaks.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • As directed by supervisor, provide break relief for packers.
  • Ability to perform all the functions of a packer.
  • Calculate, record and dispose of defective product and packaging daily.
  • Communicate with supervision regarding Quality or Operations issues that need attention.
  • Line optimization planning and creating plans to make the lines run more efficiently
  • Responsible for all aspects of the line and all personnel working on that line

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel
  • Proficient in adding subtracting and basic math
  • Ability to read, speak and write in English
  • Fork truck experience preferred
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a frequent basis
  • HOURS: 11PM 7:30AM
