The opportunity


The Canada Gas Financial Services team is seeking a Manager, Operating and Capital Cost Accounting to oversee cost and capital reporting and to support the consolidated planning and forecasting processes.


Reporting to the Director, Canada Gas Financial Services, this individual will work with internal stakeholders to develop, analyze and present actual and forecasted cost results.

What you'll do

  • Work with internal business partners across within the Business Unit and CFO to update short and longterm forecast information
  • Manage the Business Unit consolidation of actual and forecast operating and capital costs
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and implementing best practices
  • Contribute to the continued improvement of forecast and planning processes in the Business Unit
  • Deliver meaningful insight into cost drivers and variances
  • Prepare and coordinate Canada Gas financial information for quarterly analyst calls
  • Prepare and create other communication documents and reports as required
  • Miscellaneous ad hoc projects, requests for information and analysis as required.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or another related field
  • 10 or more years of relevant experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to interact effectively with business partners at all levels within the organization, including senior management
  • Excellent writing skills
  • A selfstarter with a proactive approach to problem identification and solution recommendations, who can effectively operate in a growing and changing environment under tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills combined with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to initiate change and a desire to make improvements to existing processes
  • Proven team player with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships.
Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA, MBA or CFA
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI skills
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance concepts.
