About Voyis:
Voyis designs and manufactures high performance underwater optical sensors (lasers, cameras, lights) for underwater vehicles that expand capability and enhance understanding in underwater surveys and exploration. Our products have enabled our customers to survey more than 10,000km of ocean floor across all 7 continents, helping people better understand those remote, challenging environments. Our mission is to push the limits of what's possible subsea and enable every underwater vehicle to see the depths like we see the surface.
All our products are proudly designed and built in Waterloo. Voyis operates independently and is part of the Covelya Group of companies.

What you'll do:

As an Application Engineer at Voyis you will have a wide scope of work in providing technical support and guidance to our customers, with exposure to all elements of our products. This multifaceted role is ideal for candidates that want to gain exposure to complex underwater robotics systems and own how Voyis' products integrate as sensor payloads on subsea vehicles, spanning mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines. We are seeking someone with a strong technical background, an interest in travelling globally to customer sites, and a proven ability to learn & apply new knowledge to solving our customers' problems. The role will begin by learning deeply about Voyis products and underwater systems, slowly shifting into managing customer support, integration, and data processing projects. This will include both remote support and frequent travel to customer sites, to support integrations and sales demonstrations. You will share support requests with the support team, first engaging with customers to understand the problem, then collaborating with internal teams to swiftly identify resolutions while tracking and reporting progress in our management system. You will learn how software is used to process our optical data into final 3D model deliverables, supporting customers with adopting these methodologies, and providing it as a service. The voice of the customer is critical to Voyis' product development, and this position will enable you provide direct feedback into Engineering to drive product improvements. Candidates will always be learning new things, engaging with leaders in the field of subsea robotics, and gradually become an expert in underwater sensors. It is a truly exciting opportunity for someone up for the challenge Customer projects range from underwater scientific expeditions, subsea oil and gas campaigns, offshore wind farm installations, and so much more

  5. Execute data processing to generate 3D data deliverables
  6. Develop and maintain training documentation
  7. Be the voice of the customer within Voyis providing post-delivery feedback & feature requests that inform the product roadmap

Note this is an in-person role at our headquarters in Waterloo. Frequent international travel is required to support customers at their facilities.
