Reporting to the Director of System Strategy, Planning, Design, and Implementation, the Lead, System Strategy, Planning, Design, and Implementation acts as a key resource to the OH North program areas, aiding in the identification and implementation of suitable planning and development methodologies. The role involves managing complex planning projects and initiatives to assist team members with health system planning and integration, encompassing planning, project management, research, engagement activities, and program and service evaluation.

In addition, the Planning and Integration Lead ensures the execution of Ontario Health-North priorities and initiatives, supporting stakeholders in effectively planning, executing, and managing project and program responsibilities.

This role focuses regionally on the specific needs of the North East Region.

Here is what you will be responsible for:

  • Providing planning advice and input for the development of healthcare system funding plans and managing project plans and budget allocations for planning and integration activities.
  • Identifying emerging community issues that require planning responses and utilizing appropriate planning methods such as needs-based predictive models and community feedback.
  • Monitoring implementation and continuous quality improvement activities related to healthcare planning while working with teams in System Strategy, Planning, Design, and Implementation as well as the Capacity, Access, and Flow team.
  • Conducting analysis of the local healthcare system based on provincial data, community feedback, and other sources to identify gaps and set planning priorities.
  • Promoting high-quality research and planning, pioneering methodologies in the field of health planning.
  • Engaging stakeholders effectively on planning matters, evaluating the impact of planning recommendations, fostering consensus among stakeholders for necessary actions.
  • Contributing to provincial planning activities and promoting a culture within Ontario Health-North that drives local integration and coordination.
  • Offering advice and input from a planning perspective to healthcare system funding plan development.
  • Overseeing project plans and budget allocations for planning & integration initiatives.
  • Understanding and adhering to health and safety regulations and organizational practices to ensure compliance.
  • Fostering a culture of patient safety and accountability in a psychologically safe work environment.
  • Supporting teams in ensuring adherence to health service accountability agreements.
  • Coordinating regional initiatives that enhance quality and patient safety.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary education in health administration, health planning, business administration, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is advantageous.
  • 6-8 years of relevant work experience in a healthcare setting.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Solid knowledge and demonstrated application of various planning and analysis methodologies to make effective recommendations.
  • Understanding of the current and evolving dynamics of the Ontario healthcare system and related issues.
  • Experience in seniors' care, community care, and hospital environments and policies is a plus.
  • Experience in implementing quality improvement initiatives.
  • Financial acumen.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Ability to use information for informed decision-making and provide advice independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal and external interactions.
  • Attention to detail, integrity, professionalism, and understanding of financial controls.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in French is an asset.
