The
Supervisor - Planning provides supervision, technical knowledge and guidance to Planning staff and is responsible for the deliverables and performance of the team assigned within their job stream.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1) Provide supervision, training and guidance to assigned employees to develop and enhance performance

a) Provide leadership to the group through training, coaching and continuous improvements

b) Enforce compliance of Planning practices and procedures, and suggest & conduct continuous improvements when warranted

c) Conduct Planners' performance management on an ongoing basis

d) Provide coverage for Manager, Planning when required

2) Provide oversight and assistance from project induction through to completion of maintenance activities

a) Understand the initial work packages, provide necessary support to Induction/Production Planners

b) Participate in project huddle/meeting/status update, ensure sufficient, quality planning input for project decision making

c) Direct and support Planners during maintenance activities

d) Lead problem solving efforts/activities

e) Review contractual requirements and coordinate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Vendors as required

f) Coordinate with other functional groups to support day to day operations

g) Provide oversight for Pre-Check & Project closure/Lesson Learnt activity

h) Participate in overall hangar wide operating schedule creation/adjustment, and priority decision making

3) Participate in the financial aspects of the customer's maintenance visits

a) Liaise with Supervisor, Operations Manager and Customer Representatives regarding performance and budget

4) Perform other duties as required.

CORE SKILLS

  • Excellent communication skills: verbal and written
  • Proactive with the ability and desire to problem solve in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to coordinate several projects/assignments at one time
  • Demonstrated ability in employee supervision and motivation
  • Demonstrated ability to use Word, Excel, MS Project and ERP programs
  • Knowledge with EPICOR would be considered a definite asset
  • Ability to lead change and innovation
  • Excellent customer service skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education:

  • Grade 12 Diploma
  • Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Engineering Technician Diploma
  • Certificate or training in supervision and management

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experienced planning maintenance on a variety of aircraft
  • Supervisory experience an asset
  • Project Management experience (PMP) is desired
