The Opportunity: Are you a strong leader? We seek a dynamic Executive Director to steer Uquutaq Society into its next phase of growth by promoting our program and organizational vision, overseeing operations, guiding the management team, and leading capital projects aligned with community commitments. This role provides a special chance to utilize your skills and experience to make a significant difference in addressing housing and homelessness in Canada's North.
Key Responsibilities: As the Executive Director, you lead strategic planning and execution in line with our mission, managing organizational risks and opportunities. Advocating for policies and resources to tackle homelessness and housing issues, and forming partnerships with key stakeholders are crucial parts of this role.
You will be the leader of our capital development projects, managing all projects from concept to completion to ensure they align with Uquutaq's mission and vision. Engaging with community stakeholders to meet the unique needs of Iqaluit, managing consultants and contractors for housing projects. Your leadership guarantees all construction adheres to regulations, maintaining high standards of effectiveness and compliance. Shape the community's future through innovative projects.
You are creative, resourceful, and skilled in securing funding sources, driving successful fundraising, managing donor relationships, and diversifying funding. Extensive knowledge of financial management is essential for overseeing budgeting, financial forecasting, and ensuring compliance and risk management.
Utilizing strong project management and program operations expertise to design and implement programs for the community, advocating for clients' rights and services access, and ensuring data analytics and metrics for program assessment. Community engagement is essential, advocating for policy changes, funding support, and fostering partnerships with organizations and service providers. Additionally, promoting a positive organizational culture, developing diversity, equity, and inclusion policies, supporting HR matters, and collaborating with the Board on strategy.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Degree in Non-Profit Management, Business Administration, Public Policy, or related field.
- 8+ years of senior leadership experience, preferably in housing and homelessness services.
- Proven experience in financial management and budget oversight.
- Familiarity with Inuit culture and effective operation in diverse environments.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and strategic planning skills.
- Fluency in Inuktitut is highly valuable.
