Job Title: HR Business Partner, Performance at Toast

In this role, reporting to the Senior Manager of People Success, you will play a crucial part in coaching front-line leaders within one or multiple business units. Your focus will be on guiding centralized performance support and assisting managers in supporting Toast employees during significant career milestones.

  • Act as a consultant to front-line leaders on performance management, including coaching on addressing various performance scenarios, conducting effective conversations, and best practices in documenting performance actions
  • Advise on navigating sensitive performance situations and ensuring equitable support for employees to meet role expectations
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders such as employee relations and contribute to the compassionate offboarding of employees
  • Identify priorities and influence leaders to use available self-service resources for specific requests
  • Ensure fair and consistent administration of policies, practices, and programs
  • Partner with different departments to enhance the employee and manager experience in terms of performance management
  • Encourage leaders to manage performance throughout the year and utilize data for decision-making

Requirements for the Role:

  • 2+ years in an HRBP or Talent Management role
  • Proven ability to coach and collaborate with leadership
  • Experience in employee relations and performance management
  • Strong problem-solving and coaching skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork capabilities
  • Understanding of HR practices, policies, and employment law
  • Ability to derive valuable insights from data

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Specialization in supporting performance management at scale
  • Experience in high-growth organizations
  • Background in SaaS/Sales environment
