The integral skills to succeed in this role are supply chain knowledge, procurement expertise, negotiation and customer service skills.

You will be involved in all tasks from sourcing new vendors to executing supply agreements, whilst meeting the demanding requirements of your stakeholders to ensure on time deliveries and customer satisfaction.

Role responsibilities- Strategically source materials, services and components in a timely and cost effective, low risk manner through:

  • Identifying suitable suppliers, local or overseas or 3rd party options.-
  • Develop sourcing strategies-
  • Negotiate with suppliers
  • products, service levels, prices, geographical coverage, etc.-
  • Complete purchasing transactions in SAP-
  • Provide updates to the Production Coordinator, Supply Chain Manager and Project Managers where there are supply or delivery risks.-
  • Negotiate and manage freight forwarders to efficiently and cost effectively manage inwards supply chains
  • Assist in managing suppliers via the implementation and co-ordination of structured and planned reviews
  • Communicate with suppliers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of inventory
  • Maintain Master Data and information records
  • Recommend and execute systems and process improvements to increase supply chain effectiveness
  • Achieve agreed KPI's including purchase savings, supplier OTD, effective exception messaging, expediting
  • Assist to develop, implement and maintain systems, policies, procedures and practices surrounding the purchase order process and inventory / non-inventory parts
  • Manage, create, draft, distribute quotes, purchase orders, non-compliance documents
  • Participate in cycle counting and stocktake and the associated resulting administration from these tasks.
About you- Experience in procurement role in manufacturing or a similar industry- Well-developed written and verbal communications skills- Intermediate to advanced knowledge with SAP and Microsoft office programs- High attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously- Strong background building and maintaining supplier relationships to ensure KPI's and targets are met- Team focused approach and willingness to assist in all areas to support overall team performance
