You will support various environmental and safety initiatives, complete reports for both internal and external use and manage our refinery's fugitive emission Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) program.
Minimum Requirements:
- Current enrollment in an Environmental Science, or Engineering program at an accredited postsecondary institution
- You must be returning to fulltime studies after the work term
Responsibilities: - Work with maintenance, operations and external contractors to ensure LDAR monitoring and repairs are completed in a timely manner
- Oversee fugitive emissions monitoring of volatile organic compounds on process equipment
- Provide routine updates to our refinery's leadership team on the status and effectiveness of the LDAR program
- Compile data for various environmental reports for federal and provincial regulations
- Compile safety metrics and create monthly reports
- Participate as a member of our refinery's Joint Health and Safety Committee
Location and Key Details:
- You will work out of our Sarnia refinery in Ontario, located at 1900 St. Clair Parkway
- This is a 16month work term, starting in May 2023
- Hours of work are a regular 40hour work week, Monday to Friday
