Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Netezza appliance administration. Monitoring hardware of the appliance and networks connected to the appliance.
  • Platform and firmware upgrade with assistance from IBM Support. Work with IBM Support to fix any hardware issues such as Disk failures, SPU failures, Network configuration issues, etc.
  • Hands on exp in backup and restore in same appliance and different appliances.
  • Knowledge of Netezza internals, structures, and system tables.
  • Good knowledge in Netezza migration from onpremises appliance to NPS.
  • Good knowledge in NPS server.
  • Knowledge in IBM Cloud pack Perform database backup and recovery task and data migration across environments.
  • Creating Materialized Views & Providing Cross Netezza Database Access. Good knowledge in data modeling.
  • Assist with Netezza SQL and scripting. Monitor Netezza events and event processing. Perform periodic "health check" on Netezza appliances and proactively tune the system.
  • Work independently, while operating in a team environment interacting with business users and developers and providing support.
  • User and group administration in Netezza.
  • Hands on exp in database security and privileges. Hands on exp in Linux administration and Shell scripting Hands on exp in Agility Bench, putty, Cognati pro, Tecta tools. Able to work in 24/7 shift model.
