Rate of Pay:
$ $35.972 per hour

Qualifications:

  • Currently registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing
  • Mental health experience required
  • Knowledge of psychiatric illnesses/diagnosis, treatment, relevant legislation (MHA, HCCA, OH&S, PHIPA), PSR/recovery, understanding of least restraint and safety devices, and evidencebased practices related to serious mental illness
  • Knowledge of nursing practice standards and practice guidelines
  • Skills in nursing assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation
  • Advanced skills in communication; therapeutic, interpersonal and written
  • Ability to build professional nurseclient relationships
  • Advanced critical thinking skills including problem solving and decisionmaking abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Registered Nurses and an interprofessional team
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position
  • Demonstrated regular attendance at work is required

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT

This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
