EIPS is looking to hire a full-time Library Technician/Educational Assistant at Fultonvale Elementary Junior High.

Fultonvale Elementary Junior High accommodates about 500 students from kindergarten to Grade 9, with a dedicated teaching and support staff. The school's focus is on creating a positive environment where students can thrive and nurture lifelong learning. Their motto 'Feel the H.E.A.T.' represents their core values of heart, excellence, attitude, and teamwork.

Starting August 26, 32.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 6.5 hours/day), part of which includes Library Technician duties and Educational Assistant/Noon Supervisor responsibilities. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Open to both internal and external candidates, preference will be given to permanent employees.

LIBRARY TECHNICIAN

The Library Technician plays a key role in assisting students, teachers, and staff in making the most of the library's resources. From managing circulation services to providing guidance on research, the Technician ensures that the library remains a hub for learning and exploration.

  • Handle library resource circulation
  • Manage overdue reports and materials
  • Assist students and staff in locating materials
  • Support research activities
  • Assist with technology operations

EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANT

Educational Assistants support teachers in various classroom tasks and activities. They work closely with students, providing instructional and non-instructional assistance to help them succeed in their educational journey.

  • Provide instructional support
  • Assist in individualized learning programs
  • Offer personal care and additional support as needed
  • Work as a team member to support student needs

REQUIREMENTS

Library Technician Diploma (2 years) or equivalent, and a High School Diploma. For Educational Assistants, a relevant certificate or equivalent education is preferred, along with one year of related experience and training in special needs education.
