Flagging Staff - Victoria, BC


Pacific Northwest Transportation Services (PNWTS) is the proud supplier of carbon-neutral transportation services for the cruise industry in Victoria, British Columbia.

As the exclusive supplier of buses on behalf of the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority (GVHA), PNWTS provides motor coaches for shore excursion tours and shuttle connections for cruise lines and is the sole provider of dispatch services on the Terminal.

We are looking for a positive and energetic individual to join our Flagging team.

Wage:
$28.88/hr

Positions Available:
Full-Time (Seasonal)

Direct driver & pedestrian traffic in accordance with site safety regulations to ensure a safe and organized terminal operation.

Your Work Will Include:

  • Executing an effective traffic management plan utilizing the appropriate equipment
  • Managing the flow of vehicle, tour bus, and pedestrian traffic in and out of terminal entrances
  • Effectively communicating with colleagues to control the flow of traffic
  • Responding to directional inquiries from cruise ship guests
  • Reporting incidents and unsafe practices to your supervisor

What We Will Like About You:

  • You possess a valid Traffic Control Certificate (required) with a sound knowledge of local traffic regulations and have the ability to use hand signals and directional equipment to coordinate traffic flows
  • You can stand for extended periods, regardless of weather conditions
  • You are available to work a variety of shifts, with adaptable scheduling
  • You demonstrate excellent communication and observational skills and work effectively in a team environment and conduct tasks in a polite and professional manner
  • You are legally entitled to work in Canada.

  • Steeltoed boots
