Our expectations:

Reporting to the IT department manager, the
technical deployment technician works in deployment (RFC) or project mode. He is mandated to support Stores and Ontario head office end user devices. He also examine requests falling under his or her responsibility, and supervise their planning and implementation.

Your role:

  • Support end user devices and office automation for Ontario head office and Ontario stores
  • Identify and analyze deployment solutions for the demands of operations or administrative offices;
  • Play a role in estimating the time needed for deployments;
  • Produce planning and communication documentation and keeps them up to date;
  • Produce technical deployment recipes and keeps them up to date;
  • Execute deployments with Rona best practices in terms of planning, communication and quality
  • Be responsible for deployments quality and delivery dates;
  • Ensure respect for and conformance with support management office standards;
  • Ensure Hardware Tier3 support, as needed and involve Tier2 as needed for problem solving;
  • Keeping up to date with new technologies

The qualifications we are looking for:

  • Excellent Customer Support Attitude
  • End user device technical support competencies and experience
  • University degree or College diploma in information technology or equivalent;
  • 5 years' experience in Hardware, Networks, including 3 years working in complex projects
  • Experience in retailing and distribution;
  • Knowledge of Cisco network equipment, Motorola wireless infrastructure and peripherals, Toshiba/IBM Surepos Cash Registers, Citrix, HP Terminals and PC's, Cisco and Nortel phone systems
  • Excellent capacity for analysis and synthesis;
  • Team player with leadership qualities;
  • Can work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities;
  • Easily adaptable to change;
  • Multitasking ability;
  • Can generalize and communicate personal knowledge;
  • Can work within short time frames and tight constraints;
  • Have a feel for organization, a commitment to service and a desire for quality;
  • Demonstrate autonomy and initiative;
