Position: CAD Designer - PCB

Role: Full-Time

Location: Peterborough, Ontario (Onsite, Hybrid)

Considerations:

  • Aerospace industry experience is essential.
  • The position requires a valid immigration status (permanent residence, citizen).
  • No relocation assistance will be provided.
  • ONLY APPLY if you are capable of successfully passing security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).

Responsibilities:

  • Capture circuit schematics designed by the Electrical (Hardware) Engineering team.
  • Create and maintain components symbols and footprint databases.
  • Perform Electrical/Mechanical design and layout of Printed Circuit Boards.
  • Capture and refine mechanical requirements.
  • Document designs and ensure compliance.
  • Participate in environmental qualification testing.
  • Maintain the Design for Manufacturing Requirements (DFM) and the Design for Assembly Requirements (DFA).
  • Generate Manufacturing Package, Assembly Drawings, and associated documentation for Procurement.
  • Generate and update BOMs (Parts/Lists), Gerbers, Artwork, and Pick and Place information.
  • Support configuration and release of baseline data related to the PCB.
  • Maintain the CAD tools used for generating PCB data.

Qualifications:

  • Electrical technologist/technician diploma or equivalent experience and education.
  • Experience with CAD software (ORCAD, PADS, Allegro).
  • Proficiency in advanced features of Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Project, Access, and Excel).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple demands and deadlines with strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of environmental qualification testing and setup techniques.
  • Stay updated on CAD tools and their deployment.
  • Manage hardware-related work packages and reporting structure effectively.
