About the role

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) role is most directly linked to driving HR strategy within departments and across the Bank.

As an HRBP, you combine both an enterprise view and a client specific focus in working with and enabling leaders to achieve talent strategy outcomes.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues and clients to take action and focus on solutions within your own field of expertise, and will contribute and share your perspective in other areas too; seeking to continuously broaden your knowledge and experience to increase your overall contribution.

We will support your development as an HR professional within a multi-disciplinary environment, in part by asking you to contribute to a variety of projects and initiatives.

What you will do

As the HR Business Partner, you will be the primary HR contacts for you clients and will provide generalist HR information, advice, coaching and support to leaders on day-to-day HR issues.

You will also proactively build, maintain and manage positive relationships with leaders to productively influence analysis, discussions and decision making in the areas of:

workforce planning, organization development and design, performance management and development, succession management, employee climate and engagement, and organizational change.

In addition, you will:

  • Identify and understand underlying and/or systemic HR issues, and create and implement innovative and relevant solutions aimed at achieving agreedupon business outcomes
  • Collaborate with HR Senior leadership and with the HR Centres of Excellence (e.g., Employee Relations, Compensation, Leadership and Employee Development, Policy Development, and Recruitment) to achieve results that are both aligned to corporate policy and expectations, and that meet departmental business needs.
  • Focus on generating insights, leading through coaching, influence and facilitation
  • Maintain accountability for results related to the HR requirements of prioritized outcomes

What you need to succeed

You are committed to being adaptable and flexible, willing to tackle opportunities as well as challenges with creativity and a positive attitude.

You are also hardworking, enthusiastic, results driven, and a creative problem solver.

You also have broad expertise in the HR function, have an extensive HR toolkit and are aware of both the workforce challenges for new ways of working, and the implications of digitalization and data analytics.

Further, you are an experienced communicator who has strong eye for the business and demonstrable ability to take a long-term and systems view and build strategic plans while understanding the context and capabilities of the organization and the potential impact of change.

You also have an analytical approach and base your insights and advice on data while proactively tackling complicated tasks with confidence and dealing effectively with opposing views and new, complex situations.

In addition, your strong coaching and facilitation skills will allow you to lead and support discussions that result in understanding among participants, important outcomes and good momentum on business and HR priorities.

You provide relevant feedback to leaders (1:1 or collectively) and coach them to improve their performance and relationships with their peers and direct reports.

You also bring a solid sense of urgency and the ability to balance challenging priorities.

Finally, you are adaptable, able to identify risks and opportunities, have a results-oriented mindset and the ability to build effective long-term relationships with clients and stakeholders.
