The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with latest technologies and learn about security strategies for finance applications, working in a flexible team setting within an agile framework, for an award-winning Digital team for one of the top 5 Canadian Banks.

Adheres to and demonstrates coding conventions and good practices and helps to maintain the architecture of the project.

  • Takes the lead in reviewing others' code, actively contributing suggestions and catching potential issues for their assigned project or scrum.
  • Deep knowledge of Android design best practices and Google Guidelines. Takes initiative to help identify and resolve production (and other critical) issues.
  • Always works to balance user experience, performance (client and backend), and security.
  • Helps to lead tech definition meetings, define and decide architecture patterns for their assigned project or scrum
  • Build and maintain scripts / tools for Developer & Deployment Productivity. Be the voice for platform team in scrum discussions to maintain platform consistency across teams. Work on informational application for portfolio, working on functionalities for apps, in the future there will a transactional aspect on the app, for now it is focused on account details, portfolio, descriptions on assets focus ; there is crossover from other functionalities such as the trading app so they will be put on different projects as needed
10+ years of experience as a mobile developer working on large scale projects

  • 5+ years of developer experience as an Android developer
  • 2+ years of intermediate experience with Kotlin
  • UI, business logic, models, networking
Experience with Java

  • Delivers high-quality work in a timely fashion, almost always meeting deadlines.
  • Sees the work through and is accountable from the planning stages to full completion.
  • Be responsible for end to end delivery of features for the platform within the scrum team.
  • Able and willing to mentor junior and intermediate developers.
  • Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering degree or equivalent.
Has all required and nice to have experience on recent fintech projects; has worked on big projects as an Android Dev

MS Teams Video Interviews:
o 1st technical interview – 1 hour – MS Teams Video interview; with Dev team members – quick coding challenge – 15-20 minutes (in web browser) – 1 question (if finish quickly will make it more complex and expand on it) main language is Kotlin but they can do it in Kotlin, Java, pseudocode – assessment to see how they approach the problem
o 2nd interview with HM – 30 minutes – video interview – behavioral/fit interview
Contract
