Requirements:

  • Prepare/coordinate work orders and equipment requests to resolve network issues
  • Perform network quality monitoring issues that could lead to network device failures
  • Complete firmware upgrades for all network devices
  • Travel to perform network maintenance, repair, and new installation as required
  • Create and maintain network documentation
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and administer the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), VPNs, mainframe networks and computer workstations and peripheral equipment
  • Implement data, software, and hardware security procedures
  • Perform routine network start up and close down and maintain control records
  • Perform Webserver backup and recovery operations
  • Ensure that impacted clients are properly notified of emergency outages, maintenance work and any other work that may affect their service
  • Provide technical assistance for users encountering issues
  • Install, configure, maintain, test, and troubleshoot computer hardware and software, network hardware, phones, wireless devices, printers, scanners, presentation equipment, software, and other products to deliver required desktop service levels
  • Set up, maintain, and repair computers
  • Handle user accounts and domain maintenance

Nice to have:

  • IIS experience
  • Business continuity
  • Experience with handling website network issues

Qualifications:

  • University Degree or College Diploma required
  • 3+ years of Network Technician experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows, Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, Office 36
  • Experience with securing data, network access, VPNs, and backup systems
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Decision making skills to determine the most appropriate solutions
  • Willingness to travel
  • Schedule varies depending on situation including on call, evenings, statutory holidays, and weekend availability
