The Opportunity

We are searching for a highly skilled and energetic Cybersecurity Safety Awareness and Stakeholder Engagement Specialist to join our team. In this critical role, you will be primarily responsible for driving cybersecurity awareness training across our organization and managing all aspects of our Cybersecurity Education program.

As part of a newly established organization, this individual will have the unique opportunity to rework and optimize our security policies, processes, and practices. The goal is to ensure alignment with industry standards and best-in-class cybersecurity principles.

The ideal candidate for this position will be proficient in effective communication and presentation with a deep, hands-on understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals. You should be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and have a proven track record of developing and delivering impactful security awareness training.

What you'll do

• Develop and deliver comprehensive cybersecurity training for employees at all levels.
• Create engaging content and presentations to promote cyber safety across the organization.
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to identify potential vulnerabilities and educate stakeholders on preventive measures.
• Organize and lead cybersecurity workshops and webinars for internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor industry trends and provide recommendations for enhancing our cyber safety strategies.
• Measure the effectiveness of awareness campaigns and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Maintain awareness and compliance dashboard and report on governance activities.
• Serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical departments to ensure clear communication of cybersecurity policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to complete internal and external self-assessments as required.
• Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on cybersecurity-related matters.
• Participate and develop relationships with external Trade Associations

Minimum Qualifications

• Post-secondary education Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Professional certifications or education in communications is highly desirable.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on awareness and education.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant certifications from cybersecurity organizations such as ISC2 and ISACA.
• International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) or a related certification.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Experience in creating and leading training programs and workshops.
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced, growth-oriented environment where change occurs continuously.
• Effective relationship building and collaboration with team members, business partners and key stakeholders.
• Problem solving skills and critical thinking mindset with proven experience in continuous improvement.
• Highly self-motivated and directed with ability to work efficiently and effectively under minimal supervision.
• Passionate about Cybersecurity and understanding of introductory Cybersecurity concepts.

This position requires candidates to:

Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract (record) for review

Have current, valid authorization to travel internationally (including but not limited to Canada, US and Mexico)

Travel across North America to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training (estimated up 10% of work schedule)
