***The Children's Foundation (TCF) is an established and leading non-profit organization with a budget of $6.6 million and 70+ unionized staff specializing in services for children, primarily between the ages of 5-12, and their families. Incorporated in 1957, and with a mission of " improving lives by helping children and their families navigate complex challenges , " TCF provides services to over 550 families per year through two main locations in Vancouver and Surrey, as well as throughout the Lower Mainland. TCF employs a professional staff led by a seasoned and dedicated Executive team, and a talented, diverse, and committed Board of Directors governs the organization. Services include trauma-informed clinical counselling, family preservation, a family development centre, parent education, respite for children with autism, professional assessments and training, and foster care support.

The organization works closely with families, assessing their needs and bringing hope and help to them, both individually and in groups, to teach, coach, and support them so they can be the best resource for their child's development.

Services are delivered in close collaboration with government agencies and service providers such as the Ministry of Children and Family Development, Vancouver Coastal Health, and the Surrey School District.

TCF's organizational culture promotes open communication, teamwork, and high ethical and performance standards, and the organization has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) since 2008.

The Executive Director, who can be located in either of TCF's Surrey or Vancouver offices, plays the lead role in the organization and fosters a working environment that brings the best out of people and acknowledges each of their contributions.

The Executive Director organizes the work of the Agency, is responsible for strategic and annual planning, program expansion, performance metrics, policy development, overall fiscal health, ethical guidance, and legal compliance.

TCF is hiring a new Executive Director.

TCF's Executive Director position is ideally set up for a new leader to take the helm:

it has enjoyed an engaged leadership team, consistent funding, a highly respected profile, diversification of its Board, and strategic expansion of its services.

The new Executive Director will receive initial on-boarding support from the existing management team and join the organization as it embarks on establishing a new strategic plan, providing a window to shape TCF's vision and services for the years to come.

TCF has ambitious plans for its next chapter, including the relocation of its Surrey office and expansion of services, notably in the area of Childcare Services.

TCF is seeking an entrepreneurial leader with expertise in serving children and families and leading unionized teams to boost the organization's profile and services.

Ensure appropriate and inclusive planning is done.
to meet the changing needs of the community and the organization's goals and objectives.
Governance and Board Relations
Work well with the Chair and Directors to implement Board policies and decisions.
Financial Management and Administrative Oversight
Lead program exploration, innovation, and implementation collaboratively.
Ensure quality improvement processes are in place for all programs and services.

Prioritize striving for service excellence for all staff and ensure they have access to the necessary training and tools.

Administer operations within the parameters of Board policies.
Ensure clear, honest performance assessment of all staff and volunteers.
Understand key policy trends in government, their impact on TCF and its mission, and position TCF for success.
Risk Management
Identify the organization's principal risks and implement appropriate actions to manage them.
Advise the Board of all major commitments, exposures, and risks on a regular and timely basis.
Ensure the safe, effective, and efficient operation of all sites, services, and programs.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation and internal policies.
Asset Management

Ensure a broad asset protection framework is in place at TCF to maintain, protect, and grow the value of capital and monetary assets.

Work with the Board to develop appropriate policies and procedures.
Sector and Community Leadership

Promote TCF as a leader in its area of work and provide leadership to relevant sector and community initiatives.

Participate and lead in related service, policy, and communications initiatives.

Act as the official representative of TCF in presenting the views of TCF to agencies, media, community groups, and the general public.

A Master's Degree in a related field is preferred.
Proven expertise in serving children with complex needs and their families.
Experience interacting with external community partners and leaders of other organizations to build partnerships and alliances.
