This position of Kokomish, Supervisor is to provide direction, guidance and supervision to the staff, as well as the youth who reside at Kokomish Group Home.

The supervisor will oversee the daily operations of Kokomish, as well as supervise the Fulltime and Relief staff who work in the home.

It will be the role of the supervisor to foster a therapeutic and trauma informed environment to ensure we are meeting the needs of the youth who live at Kokomish.

The supervisor will also be required to work collaboratively with Caseworkers, Agency Partners as well as other professionals to support the planning and service delivery for the youth.

As the supervisor of Kokomish, it will be necessary to work through any challenges that arise within the home be that personnel issues or dynamics between the youth.

The supervisor of Kokomish will also be responsible to ensure ongoing professional development for team members through arranging training, hosting staff meetings as well as providing policy and Agency updates to the team.

It is also vital to the role that there is an understanding of the importance of cultural connection, family connection and ensuring the youth have access to culture as a means of supporting the youth on their healing journey.


Responsibilities
- provide a trauma informed, safe and supportive environment for the youth
- build positive relationships with the youth and staff
- work collaboratively with various partners to meet the needs of the youth
- work with the youth, child/youth workers, and social worker in developing healing plans
- monitor the spending and recording of petty cash
- monitor the spending and recording of recreational funds
- monitor the distribution of allowances
- lead staff meetings
- monitor, guide, and direct the day-to-day operations of the houses
- participate in development of staff evaluations
- spend one-on-one time with staff and assist in the preparation of yearly evaluations
- be on call as required
- provide support to the group homes by way of making decisions, finding coverage, or going in to work in situations where relief is unavailable

Qualification Requirements

  • 2year diploma in Human Services, plus three or more years' experience working with youth
  • First aid certificate
  • Effective communication skills, written and verbal
  • Good leadership skills
  • Ability to give and take directions
  • Good conflict management skills
  • Must possess a valid class 5 driver's license and clear driver's abstract
  • Current (within 6 months) Criminal Record Check and Intervention Record Check, prior to starting

Salary and Benefits
